Accurate illustration of newly discovered 1.7 inches long living fossil eel, Protoanguilla palau. The eel was found in a 35 m-deep undersea cave near the coast of Ngemelis Island, Republic of Palau, western Pacific Ocean. The dicovering was made by the Natural History Museum and Institute, Chiba, Japan, 2011.
The image is part of a collection of fish paintings.
Artistic Materials: Watercolours, coloured pencils, etc. mixed medium with final composing.
